Alternate TV Shows Like LOST (The Event Cancelled, Terra Nova set for Fall 2011 on Monday's

The TV series of LOST had such an impact in all viewers. Now that the series is over, many people like me look into finding a new series to follow. Yet I find myself comparing every aspect of the new shows to the way LOST was. Here are three shows that you might want to try out and judge for yourself.

The Walking Dead (suspense, drama and action)

This show is very interesting and will have you wanting for more. Season one was very short, yet it contained a plot of events that made The Walking Dead to be a success. The show centralizes around the idea of a post outbreak contamination that changed regular human beings to a world full of zombies. It follows the story of a group of non contaminated survivors making their way through the city running into problems with zombies. It also has a list of characters with different backgrounds, of which some we still need to find out more off. This show promises to be a big hit.

Terra Nova (Time travel, action, drama, Sci-Fi)

The debut date FOX network has for the ambitious project called Terra Nova is the fall of 2011. Let’s face it, any show that contains time travel can be exciting. The plot revolves around a family that travels back in time to prehistoric times. Inside information has revealed that the pilot episode has exceeded a cost of more than 20 million dollars. Now if we all remember, LOST also had an expensive pilot, which catapulted the series to be a success. I’m sure that most of the losties will be reminded of LOST because of the vegetation that we’re going to see in Terra Nova. Expect to see some science fiction, drama, and maybe dinosaurs.

The Event (Sci-Fi, Aliens, Action)

**The Event was cancelled by NBC, but is in current talks with other networks to pick up where it left of.

The Event wanted to have the same success as LOST by providing answers to questions faster than LOST. The Event introduced us to a different way of telling the viewer a story. It uses back flashes of different time periods. It centralizes around the idea of another life form living among us with an almost compatible DNA as us. Their spaceship crashed in the 1940s and some managed to live among us while others were imprisoned by the government. The first half of the season was good, yet it did not live up to its expectation as the ratings kept falling, putting it in danger of been cancelled by the end of its full season.
